Maria Rivera Acosta

Maria Rivera Acosta, age 69, born in Bavispe, Sonora, Mexico and resident of Albuquerque, passed away, Wednesday, December 5, 2018.  Maria is survived by her children, Azucena Calderon and husband, Angel, Silvia Gardea and husband, Elpidio, Isela Chavez and husband, Miguel, Javier Varela and wife, Elaine, Luis Varela and wife, Vianey, Alicia Varela Rivera, Oscar Rivera, Daniel Rivera and Jose Vargas; twenty grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW.  A final visitation will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will follow services at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Angel Calderon, Miguel Chavez, Luis Varela, Oscar Rivera, Daniel Rivera and Elpidio Gardea.
