Modesto Martinez, age 78, born in Martinez, New Mexico , a resident of Albuquerque, passed away May 12, 2017 with his family by his side. Mr. Martinez is survived by his daughter, Christina Martinez; siblings, Katy Montano, Florentino Martinez, Henry Martinez, Carmen Prieto, Barbara Maldonado, and Maria Maese. Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille; brothers, Leroy, Alvino, and Juan Martinez. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Drive SW, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.  Final visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 927 Arizona Street S.E.  Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Armando Prieto, Lorenzo Martinez, Greg Martinez, Fermin Gurule, Michael Romero, and Joseph Zamora.
