CHAVEZ, MONICA MARIA, on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the very young age of 35, Monica was suddenly called home to be with the Lord.  Monica was born in Albuquerque, NM on November 25, 1978 to Frank and Martha Chavez.  The fourth of five children, she grew up in Torreon, NM where she graduated from Estancia High School.  Upon graduation, she moved to Las Cruces, NM where she attended New Mexico State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing.  She continued living and working in Las Cruces as a nurse and over the last year as a flight nurse.  Monica loved to travel as she was able to visit many places around the world.  She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews who referred to her as "Auntie Mo"!  She is survived by her father, Frank L. Chavez; her brother, Frank Chavez and wife, Pamela, and niece Angel; sister, Tracy and husband, Angelo Abeyta, and nieces and nephew, Dominique, Angelique, Ezeqiel, and Antoinique; brother, Marcos Chavez; and brother, Daniel Chavez and wife, Larissa, and nieces and nephew, Valentino, Amaya, Ariana, and Leana.  Monica is now together again with her mother, Martha Chavez who was also called to the Lord in March of this year.  Monica, we love you very much...you will be missed.  Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until at 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Torreon, NM, and Mass immediately following.
