Octaviano Minder Valdez age 94, passed away peacefully at his home on November 12, 2024. Minder was born June 20th, 1930 in Wagon Mound, New Mexico to his parents Floraido and Adelina. He moved around until finally settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he started his family with his wife of 61 years, Theresa where they raised their 4 children. He proudly served in the US Army, then attended college earning both a Bachelors and Master’s degree, then retiring from West Mesa High school as a math teacher. In his younger years, he enjoyed his daily walks, swimming, fishing, and most of all cherished watching his grandkids play their sports. A day never went by that he didn’t complete the newspapers crossword puzzle, which kept him sharp as a tack. His memory was like no other, and he could tell you every detail to any story you had the honor of hearing from him until the day he passed. The love and support he provided to his kids and grandkids was unmatched and the values he instilled in them, will live on forever. He will be so missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.Minder is survived by his sister Viola Aragon, his four children Carl (Peggy Harter), Gloria, Dolores Sanchez (Jimmy) and Joseph (Kim Fay). His two grandchildren James Sanchez (Sydney), Amanda Baca (Brian) and three great-grandchildren Jayden, Levi and Bradley.
