Paul (Guido) Patrick Velasquez, age 45, passed from this life on Thursday afternoon, December 7, 2017 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. He was born to Michael J Velasquez and Onesima (Onie) Telles Lippincott on March 1, 1972 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Paul leaves behind many memories that we will cherish and treasure. He was a faithful and protective friend. There was nothing he couldn't learn to do when he put his mind to it. He did quality construction work, landscaping, carpet laying, and auto-mechanics. He was an encourager to many and had a charismatic personality. He loved listening to and playing music with the trumpet and keyboard. In the past couple years due to chronic back pain and other health issues he took up carving intricate designed walking canes and making boom boxes. He always stayed busy.
Paul is survived by his mother, Onesima (Onie) Lippincott; step-father, Bob Lippincott; brother, Michael James Velasquez Jr. and wife Gwyn; step-mother, Maxine Velasquez; step-sisters, Shelby Lippincott, Kelly Marze, Bobbie Hills, Angel Jordan and Marissa Gonzales; uncles, Johnny (Debbie) Telles, Erminio (Nancy) Telles, Bobby (Armandina) Telles, Edwin (Liza) Telles; aunts, Erlinda (Richard) Durant, Edna (James) Martinez, Helen (Chuck) Kappus, Gloria (Frank Sr.) McAfee and a special God-daughter, Raychel Martinez. He is also survived by many cousins and friends. His cousins John Trujillo Jr. and Andre Telles were faithfully by his side to the end.
Paul was preceded in death by his dad, Michael J. Velasquez; uncle, Randy Telles; aunt, Annie Trujillo; cousins, Frank McAfee Jr., Renee Telles, and Gabriel Martinez; maternal grandparents, Adelino and Senaida Telles and paternal grandparents, Herley and Mary Velasquez)
Paul, you don't have to be concerned where you are going to call home anymore. Your mind and your heart are at rest and you have received the ultimate healing with a place in heaven prepared just for you.You are already missed and have left us a with a gaping hole in our hearts. I know your departure is not a final goodbye. We will be reunited with you in heaven someday. Your struggles are behind you. No more sorrows, no more tears, and no more pain.
