Paula Sanchez

Paula Sanchez, age 90, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed peacefully in her sleep and joined our Lord on Saturday morning, January 6, 2018.   Mrs. Sanchez was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.  She is survived by her loving family: children, Mike and Lina Sanchez, Pete and Grace Sanchez, Fred Sanchez and Rita Vallejos, and Anna Sanchez; siblings, Juanita Baca, Virginia Garcia, Mary Griego, Max Griego, Rosa Griego, Viola Pedroza; 54 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pelegrino (Pete) Sanchez; daughter, Linda Sanchez Humphreys; parents, Maxamilliano and Tomasita Griego, siblings, Gregorio Hernandez, Jose Griego, Lupe Madrigal.

Paula will always be remembered for her warm heart, love of her family, playing cards with family and friends, making blankets, playing slots and bingo at the casino, and enjoying her donuts and coffee.  She was the true 'matriarch' of our family, a role model for all of us, and we'll miss her dearly.

Paula was a proud member of the Catholic Church.  A visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, a Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will follow services at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Michael Sanchez, Christopher Humphreys, Marcus Ortiz II, Lance Vallejos, Anthony Garduno, and Freddy Garduno.  Honorary pallbearers are Benjamin Casados and Damien Casados.
