Petra Ida Olivas

Petra “Ida” Olivas was called home to our Lord and Savior on October 13th, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on February 27, 1934 in San Jose, New Mexico to Basilio and Maria “Julianna” Vigil.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, loving husband Maclovio Olivas, daughter Deborah “Debbie” Tafoya, brothers Margarito, Earl, Frank, Alfonso, Ruben, Leroy, and Chris, sisters Josie, Pricilla and Angelina.

She is survived by her son Herman Gonzales and wife Diane, brothers Isidore Vigil, Junior Vigil and wife Mary Ann, and her cousin who was a sister to her Martha Pedroncelli and husband Emilio, grandchildren Angela Trujillo and husband Josh, Gino Tafoya and wife Cassandra, Alicia Pagliuca, Marissa Gonzales and Elijah Gonzales, great-grandkids Evan and Derek Tafoya, Alec and Cole Pagliuca, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ida was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and cherished her entire family. She was a lifelong devoted member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing at every opportunity, playing poker with family and friends, hosted and cooked Christmas dinner, and traveled to many destinations. Ida worked for the State of New Mexico with the Children’s Youth and Families Department where she retired after 25 years of service.

Services are as follows: Visitation will be at 9:00am, Thursday October 24th, 2024 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:15 am. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery to follow, 1900 Edith Blvd NE.
