Pitacio Mendoza, age 85, born in San Marcial, NM, and a resident of Albuquerque, was called home Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Mr. Mendoza is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-six years, Katie; children, Ramona Gonzales and husband, Sal, Benny Mendoza, and Kay Hissa and husband, Bobby; siblings, Ralph Mendoza, Tommie Rosas and husband, Ray, Lydia Gonzalez and husband, Peter;  grandchildren, Matthew, Paul, Waylon, Shannon and BJ; great-grandchildren, Erique, Dominic, Ryan and Savannah; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Mr. Mendoza was preceded in death by, his little angels, Fabby and Harry Mendoza. Mr. Mendoza was a heavy equipment operator for many years until he retired. He loved hunting,  farming and  could never get him away from his tractors and cows.  All he wanted to be was at his farm in Los Chavez.  Mr. Mendoza was a man with a heart of gold and will be forever missed. Visitation will be Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m.  Final visitation will be  Monday, September 19, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at  9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Pajarito Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Matthew Gonzales, Paul Gonzales, Waylon Chavez, B.J. Mendoza, Sal Gonzales, and Bobby Hissa,  Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Mendoza, Eric Gonzales, Dominic Gonzales, Ryan Chavez, and Savannah Fresquez.
