Presciliana "Presy" Sanchez, 89, a resident of Corrales, passed away on December 05, 2016. Presy was born on the family homestead near Abo, NM on June 20, 1927. Presy is survived by her only son and daughter-in-law, Tony Gilbert and Mercedes Sanchez of Corrales; her grandson and his wife, Javier E. and Martha Sanchez; four great-grandchildren, Antonio Gilberto, Noe, Emiliano, and Javiercito, all of Ewing, near Estancia, NM; her sister, Francis Pohl, two brothers, Reyes Salas and wife, Mary, and Erminio Salas and wife, Maria; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Tony S. Sanchez; her parents, Conrado and Eufelia Salas; her sister Carmelita Salas; her brother Benigno “Benny” Salas; her sister Vicenta “Bessie” and husband, Lawrence Purcella; and her brother-in-law Julian Pohl. Presy was a dedicated lifelong Roman Catholic and an active member of the San Ysidro Catholic Parish of Corrales for over fifty years. During her life, Presy was a homemaker who dedicated herself to her family, being an exceptional mother and grandmother. She loved praying, cooking, gardening, picking pinon, keeping chickens, going for wood, canning fruit, and picking wild greens and remedios. She was known for her patience and for her quiet, easy-going attitude.  Visitation will be Friday, December 09, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 S. Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Javier E. Sanchez, Antonio Gilberto Sanchez, Noe Sanchez, Erminio Salas, Henry Pohl, Michael Salas.
