Priscilla Pohl

Priscilla Pohl, a warm, loving, fun and faithful wife, mother and grandmother, loved by so many, passed away on February 16th, 2025. Priscilla was born the eldest of 8 children to Jose and Delfina Chavez on November 4th, 1935, in the tiny town of Pinos Wells, NM. During high school, Priscilla met, then, after many love letters exchanged, married her lifelong love, Geomy Pohl. Priscilla would go on to dedicate the rest of her life to building and growing a legacy of family, faith, fun, and friendship, with a bit of feistiness included in everything she did. Geomy and Priscilla celebrated 69 years of marriage together, building a close-knit family of 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Priscilla was the heart of the family’s home in Albuquerque’s North Valley, and the family ranch in Chilili, NM, after relocating in 1999. Priscilla is predeceased by her parents Jose and Delfina, and husband Geomy. She is lovingly survived by her siblings Navolena, Inez, Stella, Frank, Corina, Frances and Anita; children Rita (Mike) Chavez, Dorothy, Lonnie(Michelle), Donnie (Debra), Mark (Ida), and Kevin (Nancy), her many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, and a multitude of friends. Priscilla will always be remembered lovingly as a woman of faith, a steadfast wife, the bedrock of her family and of her community, a great friend to acquaintances and strangers alike, a stellar cook, a fun companion to so many, a tireless ranch hand, a consummate hostess, a wild driver, a fast mover, a singer, a once in a while piano performer, an enthusiastic dancer, and, mostly, as a woman so brimming with love it overflowed to everyone around her. Anyone blessed enough to have known Priscilla will not soon forget her, and her heritage of love of life and love of family. Services will be held at our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Place NE, Albuquerque NM 87108, on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025. Rosary at 10:30 a.m. with mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
