Rafaela Chacon

On July 3, 2017 the angels carried Rafaela Chacon to her destiny in heaven.  Rafaela Sanchez Chacon, resident of Albuquerque, was born on March 6, 1940 to Victor and Isabel Sanchez.  Rafaela was a loving wife, mother and known to her grand and great-grandchildren as, “Mama Goo-Goo”.  She was a nurse and caregiver throughout her life.  She is survived by her husband of over 42 years, Robert Chacon;  daughter, Ruby Olivas and husband, Timothy; son, Henry Moreno; daughters, Diana Sanchez, Emily Sanchez and husband, Leonard; grandchildren, Theodore A. Olivas, Trisha Marie Ella Mondragon, Trinity R. Olivas, Steven D. Sanchez Jr., Gabriel A. Sanchez Sr., Amelia N. Sanchez, Vincent A. Sanchez, Victor Sanchez, Ava Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Demitri, Isaiah, Christopher, Denise, Monica, William, Amaya, Mykah, Mike, Serenity, Josiaah, Steven III, Heavenly, Deja, Gabriel Jr., and Alizae. Visitation will be Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors. Dr. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.; Final visitation will be July 7, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales, 5015 Corrales Rd., with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery.  Pallbearers will be, Theodore Olivas, Trinity Olivas, Vincent Sanchez, Victor Sanchez, Steven Sanchez Jr. and Gabriel Sanchez Sr.  Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Olivas, Leonard Sanchez, and Gilbert Romero.
