Reginita (Garcia) Chavez, age 90, born, October 24, 1925 in Torreon, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at home with her family by her side and is now in the presence of Our Lord. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her beloved husband of seventy years, Feliciano (Chano); three sons, Leonides Chavez and wife, Mary, Lawrence Chavez, and Herman Chavez; five daughters,  Jeanette Contreras and Liz Montano, Dolores Romero and husband, Delfin, Elizabeth Ramirez and husband, Joe, Rita Aranda and husband, Daniel, Martha Chavez and fiance, Ray Atkinson;  brother, Ray Garcia and wife, Mary Therese; sister, Seferina Chavez; sisters in law, Rosemary Garcia, and Elsie Garcia; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grand children; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. Mrs. Chavez was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary (Little Mary) Baros; and grandson, Rosendo (Chendo) Contreras. Reginita was a longtime member of the Torreon Women's Auxiliary and a longtime member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Visitation will be Friday, February 05, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.  Final visitation will be Saturday, February 06, 2016 at San Antonio Catholic Church, Torreon, NM from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Torreon Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Patrick Trujillo Sr., Peter Trujillo, Mario Baros, Gilbert Romero, Domino Romero, and Paul Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Trujillo Jr., and John Ray Trujillo.
