Rita S. Maldonado, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, August 09, 2016 at home with her family at her side.   Mrs. Maldonado is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Guadalupe (Lupe) Maldonado; children, Joe Lupe Garcia and wife, Mary, Barbara Sandwick and husband, Mark, Geraldine Lovato and husband,  Peter,  Chris H. Sanchez and wife, Mary Ann, and Mary Ann Shaw and husband, Monty; sisters, Emilia Muniz, Yolanda Perez, Julia Garcia, Della Nieto, Dubie Sedillo, and Diana Rivera; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-eight  great-grandchildren;  nine great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.  Mrs. Maldonado was preceded in death by her father , Miguel Saavedra; mother, Floriana Salas; daughter, Patsy Romero; son, Richard Garcia; and great-grandson, Lawrence Romero.  Visitation will be Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 11: 30 p.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tomas Garcia, Elfego Lopez, Lawrence Romero, Esequiel Garcia, Gabriel Sanchez, and Christopher Sanchez.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua  Lovato, and Joseph Garcia.
