Bob Griego, age 94, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at home with his family at his side. Mr. Griego is survived by his children, Lorraine Gallegos and husband, Joe, James Griego, Leroy Griego, Michael Griego and wife, Dolores, John Griego and wife Theresa, Rosalie Lopez and husband, Gary Valencia,  Phyllis Encinias and husband, Gene; twenty-three grand children; twenty-six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rosella Cordova; brother, Pat Griego and wife, Bobbette; sister in law, Chinita Griego; many nieces, nephews,  cousins and friends.  Mr. Griego was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Griego; and great-grandson,  Mathew Tafoya.  Mr. Griego was a Veteran of the U. S. Army, serving WWII, member of the Catholic Church, EEO Coordinator for the N.M. Highway Department for thirty years, and Safety Director for the N.M. State  Highway Department.  Visitation will be Tuesday, December  20, 2016 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Final visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW with from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with  Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  A  Committal Service will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m.  Pallbearers will be Gene Encinias, Gary Valencia, Joe Gallegos, Matt Lopez, John Griego, and Michael Griego.  Honorary pallbearers will be  James Griego, Leroy Griego, and Erik Encinias.
