Rosanna "Rose" Saiz

Rosanna (Rose) Saiz, age 98, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 28, 2023, with her three children and daughter in-law by her side. Born December 1, 1924, to Canuto M. Sisneros and Reyes Serna in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Rose was the oldest of five sisters and grew up on a small family ranch in Scholle, New Mexico. She graduated from Mountainair High School in 1943. She met Johnnie at the fiestas in Abo, New Mexico, and they were married on September 10, 1948, moved to Albuquerque for employment opportunities, and immediately started their family. After she had her three children, she went to work for Bell Trading Post, where she worked in the Casting Department, making Indian style costume Jewelry. She was employed there for 30 years, retiring in 1982. Rose is survived by her son Jerry and wife, Roberta, daughters, Cathy Saiz and husband, Armando Ortega, and Priscilla Saiz. Her five grandchildren, Jessica LaCour and husband, Matthew, Melanie Padilla, Patricio Padilla, and wife, DeLan, Alisha Marquez and husband, Mario, and Carly Saiz; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Sisneros and Alice Sisneros; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends scattered throughout the state of New Mexico, California, and Arizona. She was preceded in death by husband Juanito (Johnnie) Saiz; parents, Canuto and Reyes Sisneros; sisters, Vivian Sisneros and Josie Perea; nieces, Lupe Lucero and Agnes Perea. She will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and her ability to treat every person she met like they were part of her family. She was a lifelong, faithful, and active member of Saint Francis and Saint Edwin’s Catholic Churches in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitation will be held at St. Edwin’s Catholic Church 2105 Barcelona Rd. SW at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow the services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE. Pallbearers will be, Patricio Padilla, Morris Gutierrez, Norbert Gutierrez, Reyes D. Padilla, Lucas Vega, Matthew LaCour. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Lorenzo Perea, Renae Perea, Andrew Padilla, Michael Padilla, Jacob Lesperance, Miguel Benavidez.
