Rose Platero, 90.
Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away on August 26, 2022 at her residences in Rio Rancho, NM. Mrs. Rose Platero is survived by her loving children; Shirley Tapia and late husband, Fernando Tapia, Mary Sherman and husband David Sherman, Antoinette Day and husband, Leonard Day, Patricia (Cordie) Soto and husband Saulo Soto, and Maria (Punch) Candelaria and husband Larry Candelaria; two sons, William Platero (Snookie) Platero and wife, Mary Platero and Gregory Platero and wife, Sheri Platero, sister, Tonita Jaramillo; 31-grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law; Bonnie Ruth Giovengo Lucero. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Platero is preceded in death by her parents Bautista (Bob) Lucero, and Anita Padilla, husband Dillon Platero, her son Patrick Platero, her sister Percy Tewahaftewa , brother; Johnny Lucero; grandchildren; Marc Arviso, Edward Platero, and Clarence Davis Platero. Mrs. Platero was an enrolled member of Isleta Pueblo and a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. A visitation for Mrs. Platero will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 5:30 pm with Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m at Gabaldon Mortuary Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW. Mass of the resurrection will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m at St. Augustine Parish, 71 Tribal Rd 35, Isleta Village Proper, NM. Mrs. Platero will be laid to rest with her husband, Dillon Platero at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Sgt. Cordellia Soto- USMC, Desidero Soto, Alicia Daiz, Patrick Reyes, Sgt. Leonard DayJr.- Army, Dillon Charles Day Jr., Army LCPL Tyrel Wheeler-USMC, and Jazlene Francis
