Sam Mascarenas Sr., age 86, born in Socorro, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016.  Mr. Mascarenas is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Flora; children, Samuel Mascarenas Jr. and wife, Carol, Mary Anne Lucero, and Julian Mascarenas and Brenda Padilla; son in law, Alfred Lucero; sister, Felina Sedillo, Emma Mascarenas, Sadie Torrez; brothers, Raul Mascarenas and wife, Olivia, and Ray Mascarenas; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Mr. Mascarenas was preceded in death by his parents, Magdaleno and Ruperta Mascarenas; and sons, Celso, Leroy, and Floyd.  Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Final visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Sw from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Joey Maldonado, J.R. Lucero, Jerry Mascarenas, Daniel Maldonado, Felix Torrez, and Lanny Torrez.  Honorary pallbearers will be his grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren.
