Sarah (Sadie) Chavez, age 89, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away July 10, 2016 at home with her family at her side. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mares and husband, Thomas; sisters, Chinita Griego, and Mabel Baca and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Karla and partner, Robert, Gina and partner, Jennifer, Tamie and husband, Rudy, Monique, Stephanie, Gabriel and wife, Christine; twelve great-grandchildren; many other extended family and friends.  Mrs. Chavez was preceded in death by her parents, Nestor and Amalia Armijo; husband, Arthur; son, Mark; and brother, Albert.  Visitation will be Friday, July 15, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW from 8:15 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at a later date.
