Seferino Chavez

Seferino Chavez age 73 a resident of Albuquerque New Mexico and born in Magdalena New Mexico passed away on July 1st, 2020. Seferino was a loving and devoted husband, dad grandfather and great grandfather. His passions were being outdoors he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time in his land in Los Lunas and taking care of his animals. His  grand kids were everything to him and loved teaching them all he could to be better individuals.  Seferino was always quick to help anyone out an a emergency. Seferino is survived by his wife of 53 years Elsie Chavez. Children; Yvette Chavez and husband Mark, Yvonne Coriz, Martin Chavez. Grandchildren; Brittany, Lauren, Jordan and wife Danielle, Mollie, and boyfriend Chris, Sean. Great Grandchildren; Jayden, and Ash. Siblings; Victor Chavez, Josie Madril and husband, Paul, Lucy Marquez and husband Felix and his extended family. Pallbearers will be Chris Cambise, Sean Coriz, Jordan Coriz, Mark Chavez, Martin Chavez and Richard Cordova. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his parents; Jose & Anita Chavez: Brothers, Sammy Chavez, Gilbert Chavez and Frankie Chavez; Son in law Henry Coriz.

Effective May 16, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham requires all New Mexicans to wear a face covering in public spaces, with exceptions for eating, drinking and exercising.

Cloth face coverings can be made out of household items and are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. N-95s and surgical masks must be reserved for medical personnel only. Cloth face coverings are intended to minimize the spread of the virus from people who don’t show symptoms of the virus, transmitting it to others. Remember, face coverings should be used in addition to washing your hands and staying home.
