SSG Edmundo “Mundo” Benavidez

SSG Edmundo “Mundo” Benavidez, age 79, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 3,2023. Mr. Benavidez is survived by his wife of fifty-five years Antonia Garcia Benavidez; children, Carmen Benavidez, Chris Benavidez and wife, Annette; grandchildren, Santiago, Samantha, Michelle, and Anthony; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Orlando Benavidez, and Ben Benavidez; the special people in his life, Orlando Ben Benavidez, Paul Benavidez, and Gilbert Gutierrez. Mr. Benavidez served his country proudly and retired from the United States Army National Guard. Visitation for Edmundo will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. at Holy Family Catholic Church 562 Atrisco Dr. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00a.m. Interment with follow the Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd NE with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Orlando Ben Benavidez, Paul Benavidez, Donald Garcia, Gilbert Gutierrez, Gabriel Castillo, and Noah Ortega.
