Vivian Lee Tafoya

Vivian Lee Tafoya, 80, born in Kimberly, Nevada, and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, went home to be with her Lord on January 19, 2025. Vivian is survived by her loving children: Tom Tafoya and his wife, Charlotte Otero-Tafoya; Lucretia Denise Tafoya; J. Nep Tafoya and his wife, Bianca; and Mary Trinnie Benavidez and her husband, Gerald. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tomas and his fiancée, Erika; Tatiana; Gerald Paul and his fiancée, Amber; Evangelee, Samantha, Tommy Andres, and Fred; as well as her great-grandchildren: Aiden, Jamie, and one on the way, Zara.

Her surviving family members also include her brother, David Oscar Chavez; her companion, Joe Barresi; her sister-in-law, Dolores Ulibarri, her brother-in-law Martin Tafoya and her sister-in-law Ramona Tafoya. She considered Patricia Romero as her sister, and her best friend, Connie Lee Hanson also survives her. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Tafoya; her grandson, Fernando Benavidez; her mother, Daisy Chavez; her father, Nep Chavez; and her sister, Angela Chavez.

Pallbearers will be Nep Tafoya, Tomas Tafoya, Tatiana Tafoya, Gerald Paul Benavidez, Tommy Andres Benavidez, and Fred Tafoya. Honorary pallbearers will be Alfonso Montoya, Chris Romero, and Joe Barresi.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. to take place in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, located at 1000 Old Coors Drive S.W., Albuquerque, NM 87121. A Final Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025,z at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. all to be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church located at 811 Guaymas Place N.E. Albuquerque, New Mexico 87108. A Burial will follow the services to Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
