Raymond Jose Estrada, passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 18, 2022. He was born in Bernalillo, New Mexico to Manuel and Katherine (Sanchez) Estrada on April 23, 1938. Raymond shared his life with his life-long partner, Nancy Sanchez for over thirty-three years, who he loved very much, and her four children that he considered his own. He was devout Catholic and a member of St. Anne Catholic Parish in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Raymond was a veteran in the United States Navy and served his country proudly form 1958-1964, when he completed his tour in Japan. His passion was woodworking and would spend countless hours in his shop making furniture. He was employed as a cabinet maker for many years with Autumnwood and Country view Cabinets. He received his bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counseling and served as a counselor at the Turquoise Lodge. Raymond enjoyed cooking and pursued a degree in Culinary Arts. He also loved to travel with the love of his life and joke around with the ones closest to him. He often used the saying “speak up mumbles” when he couldn’t understand or hear what one was saying. Raymond was preceded in death by his lifelong partner, Nancy Sanchez; parents Manuel and Katherine (Sanchez) Estrada; sons, Raymond Estrada, Joseph Estrada, and Richard Estrada. Siblings, Inez Baca, Cora Ortiz, Nela Castillo, Willie (Melky) Estrada, and Rita Nieto. Raymond is survived by his three children, Julie Estrada, Mark Estrada and Evelyn Estrada-Cobos; four stepchildren, Liz Langner and husband, Albert Sanchez and wife, Lydia Del Rio and husband, John Sanchez, and wife; twenty-nine grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; one sister Theresa Winters, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and A Rosary to follow at 5:00pm to 6:00pm Rosanne Vega-Klaus his niece will be reciting the Rosary.
