Shondel Benavidez

Shondel L. Benavidez, 35, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on April 25th, 2021. Shondel is survived by her husband of almost ten years, Sean Benavidez, son Oliver Benavidez, sister Jade Wise, Grandparents John and Lou Wise,  Mother Yvette Wise, Father Greg Chacon, and Grandmother Lupe Chacon, her Nina Lisa and Uncle John Lopez, Aunt Ann Marie and Uncle Carlos Silva, Uncle Stephen (Bullets) and Aunt Cindy Chacon, Aunt Audra Wise, Grandmother Joann Roybal, Father and Mother-in-law Phillip and Bridgette Benavidez, Brother-in-law Adam Benavidez, her Vegas family, her much-loved cousins, close relatives, and all of her cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by Grandfather Wilfred “Goofy” Chacon, Grandmother Senaida Benavidez and her Great Grandparents Helen Wise, Lucy Paisano, Trini & George Chacon, and Marty Roybal.

Shondel was a member of the Teamsters Union local 492 where she worked long days for the film industry to provide for her family.

She loved everyone and held a special place for everyone in her heart. She was the light in every room. Not even wearing all black could dim her light along with her beautiful smile. Her devotion was to be the best mother and best friend to her son Oliver. She loved taking and picking him up from school and listening to his stories, having dance sessions, watching Disney movies and shows, and loving him with all her might. Oliver was her universe and she always made his wishes come true.

Shondel was a loving wife, Sean was the Sean to her Del (Seandel). They enjoyed many adventures traveling together and spending time with their families. She cared so deeply for her sister from another mista, Jade and they were inseparable. She was always on the pursuit of happiness and brought joy and laughter with all her quirks. She had so many phrases, like, “Hello” in a tiny voice, “See ya tomorrow”, “Love you miss you bye”, “Copy”, “Oh my cock”, “Hi, how are ya!?”, and “Please hold.” She loved bats, cats (she thought she had 9 lives), Halloween, zombies, music, concerts and sleeping in. She was a loyal friend and would give the shirt off her back for them.

Shondel will always and forever be in our hearts.
