Thomas Patrick Telles, aged 67, beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather, was called to eternal rest on December 19, 2021. He was born March, 14, 1954, in Albuquerque, NM, to parents Richard and Rita Telles. He was baptized at Holy Family Catholic Church on Atrisco Dr., went to school, and grew up in Albuquerque, NM.
Thomas graduated from West Mesa High School, Class of 1972. He married his wife of 48 years, Adela, in 1973 and happily retired from various technical and computer related jobs in the GSD at the State of New Mexico in the early 2000’s.
Thomas was a lifelong Roman Catholic, and in addition to being a current member of Holy Family, he was also a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church in Santa Fe, NM. He stood as padrino, along with his wife, for the baptismal of nephew Justin Montano, grandson Joseph Telles, Marisa Guadalupe Tijerina, and grandson Aaron Telles. Additionally, he stood as padrino for the First Holy Communion of his cousin Christopher Hrubienski. In 2015 he moved back to his hometown of Albuquerque after 40 years of living in Santa Fe.
Thomas had many interests and hobbies, but especially loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and was a dedicated fan of Classic Rock, Spanish, and New Mexico music. He attended many concerts, comedy nights, and sporting events and could recall so many of these events with surprising ease.
Thomas is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tomas L. Telles and wife Rita G. Telles, and maternal grandparents, Elias J. Jaramillo and wife Maria A. Jaramillo, parents, Richard E Telles and Rita (Jaramillo) Telles, niece Tanya Giron and her husband Christopher Giron, and grand-nephew Isaiah N. Telles.
Thomas is survived by his faithful and loving wife Adela G. Telles, children, Jesus Telles and wife Elizabeth, Janet Telles, and Richard Telles, grandchildren, Joseph, Sasha, James, and Aaron, one uncle, Benjamin Jaramillo, siblings, Mary Dodge and partner Joe Montano, Toby Telles and wife Catherine, and Marsha Sanchez and husband Rudy, as well as many nieces, nephews, blood relatives, and many brothers and sisters who have become like family through the bonds of friendship.
A Rosary for Mr. Telles will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 8:30am, with a Mass to follow at 9:00am all to be held at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 562 Atrisco Dr SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
